CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 06/02/10 -- Veterans who have chosen to serve this country again in America's classrooms are now assured access to online accredited affordable master's degrees in education and online programs that can be fully reimbursed by the Post 9-11 GI Bill. American College of Education has been designated a Yellow Ribbon school by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Yellow Ribbon program was created with the new GI Bill to reduce higher education costs for veterans. Many institutions which are approved for GI Bill benefits provide a discount for some veterans, but American College of Education accepts the GI Bill with a tuition that is actually below the maximum allowed by the VA. This ensures that veterans will not have to bear any of the cost of receiving an online master's degree in education. In creating the Yellow Ribbon program, Veteran Affairs Secretary James Peake stated, "We have a collective obligation to extend opportunities to the men and women who volunteer to bravely serve in today's military and to defend the freedoms we so enjoy." "American College of Education understands the obligation that all of us have to our veterans and our master's degree programs online fit perfectly into a veteran's life and budget. We are very proud to partner with the VA to provide quality, affordable accredited affordable master's degrees and online programs," said Dr. Jeri Nowakowski, President at American College of Education. "And because all of our courses are offered exclusively online, our master's degree programs are ideal for veterans and active duty service members," she added. Veterans must meet the admission criteria of American College of Education, a fully accredited affordable online college providing master's degrees in education. The GRE is not required. A special Military Education Benefit section of the American College was recently launched to help potential students maximize their education benefits. Educators interested in enrolling in the College should contact the American College of Education Enrollment Department at 1-800-280-0307 or visit the College's website at www.ace.edu.
