BUFFALO, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 05/26/10 -- Bryant & Stratton College, a pioneer in career education since 1854 and the premier provider of online associate's degrees, announced today that beginning this fall it will offer an online Associate's Degree in Interactive Media Design. Bryant & Stratton adapted the new online program from the popular and established campus-based Interactive Media Design Associate's Degree program. This is the first online program offered by Bryant & Stratton in a creative career field. The new online Associate's Degree in Interactive Media Design will prepare graduates with the skills and training necessary to qualify for entry-level positions in media design, multimedia production and other graphic design and web-technology related careers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment of graphic designers will increase 13 percent through 2018 with many new jobs associated with interactive media. "We are excited to begin offering the online Associate's Degree in Interactive Media Design. This program takes the best of the campus-based curriculum and enhances it with simulations and other hands-on technology to offer students an engaging and cutting-edge online learning experience," said Scott Traylor, Director of Admissions for Online Education at Bryant & Stratton College. "This degree is an excellent opportunity for students who are interested in making a career out of their creative talent, but require the flexibility of online education." Courses will integrate the elements of audio, video, still images, animation, text and data related to the creation of interactive content for websites and other multimedia platforms and technologies. Graduates of the program will have a solid foundation in interactive media design and imaging hardware and software, including the recently released Adobe Creative Suite 5, which is the industry standard in graphic design, video editing and web development applications. The curriculum is further enhanced by the faculty who are working professionals in the interactive media design field, as well as by applied liberal arts courses which provide soft skill development, including writing, research and analytical and critical thinking skills. Additionally, graduates will enter the job market with a comprehensive e-portfolio of the work they produced during the program, which will showcase their skills to prospective employers.
