Online-Education.net Launches $2000 Essay Scholarship Contest: Initial Essay Topics Aimed Toward Teachers and Nurses

Online-Education.net has launched an essay scholarship contest encouraging students to submit essays on a number of subjects; the initial essay topics aim to aid teachers and nurses in paying for their continuing education, with more essay topics to be rolled-out in the future.

Foster City, CA (PRWEB) July 6, 2010 -- Online-Education.net has launched the "Win $2000 for College!" essay scholarship contest. The new scholarship contest feature incorporates a simple, user-friendly entry form encouraging students to submit essays on a number of subjects; the initial essay topics aim to aid teachers and nurses in paying for their continuing education, with more essay topics to be rolled-out in the future.

"At the outset, launching this scholarship contest allows us to reach out to teachers and nurses who need assistance in paying for their continuing education courses," Breanne Cooley, Senior Editor of Online-Education.net said. "The idea is to expand upon the essay topics as the scholarship contest grows; offering students of varying educational tracks an opportunity to win scholarships."

The first two Open Scholarship essay topics are:
•    Who inspired you to become a teacher? How?
•    Describe the moment you knew you wanted to become a nurse.

Applicants can currently choose one of the two topics, submit their essay and are encouraged to accrue "likes," or votes, from peers by promoting their essay via email and social networking sites. The top ten vote-getters will be considered by an expert panel for the $2000 cash prize. Once a winner is selected, the money will be sent directly to the online or campus school of their choice.

"The benefits of this financial investment in career development are two-fold," Cooley said. "Staying on the cutting edge of research and technology in their field will not only help teachers and nurses advance in their careers and earn a higher salary; it will also elevate the quality of care and instruction they give to their students and patients for years to come."

Writing and submitting the essay gives applicants a chance to really evaluate how passionate they are about pursuing further education in a specific area. The first two essay topics speak directly to the men and women who educate and nurture people of all ages, teachers and nurses, with plans to expand to other professionals following this launch.
