Aug 17, 2010 12:26 ET BIRMINGHAM, AL--(Marketwire - August 17, 2010) - Education Corporation of America, a leading owner and operator of private higher education institutions in the United States, today announced the promotion of Jason Mann to the position of vice president of marketing. Mann will lead the marketing efforts of all ECA brands -- Virginia College, Golf Academy of America, Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College, and Ecotech Institute. As part of his responsibilities, Mann will oversee the development of overall brand and business strategy and the go-to-market product and marketing plans for each business unit. He will foster close relationships between ECA's corporate leadership and each campus as he aligns and advances marketing and branding activities. "I am thrilled to take the lead as we continue to grow Education Corporation of America's brands across the country," said Jason Mann. "I feel fortunate to work in an industry that plays such an important role in helping people transform their lives." For the past three years, Mann was the marketing director at Education Corporation of America. He has spent the last year as the cross-functional leader of the development of Ecotech Institute in Denver, Colorado. Ecotech Institute is the first college of its kind that is entirely devoted to renewable energy and sustainable design. Over the past few months, Mann has had the opportunity to meet with influential industry, education and government leaders in the cleantech sector -- many of which are now on the Ecotech Institute advisory board. Prior to that, he was marketing director for the company's largest business unit, Virginia College on-ground campuses. "Jason Mann's passion for upholding and expanding the ECA brand has been proven during his tenure with our organization," said Chuck Trierweiler, chief marketing officer of Education Corporation of America. "Jason's ability to remain strategic while managing several critical brands is extremely valuable and we look forward to his continued success."
