MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited* online university that has built its reputation by providing quality education for adults, announced two additions to its business education offerings. Capella has added a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) online degree program to its portfolio of doctoral business degrees, which also includes PhDs in Business, Organization and Management, and Information Technology. The new DBA features specializations in Business Intelligence, Global Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Strategy and Innovation. At the undergraduate and master's level, Capella announced the launch of a Combined BS/MBA option, developed to help working adults achieve both a bachelor's degree and an MBA more quickly and for less money. The new option reduces the time to complete both degrees by up to two quarters and saves more than $7,700 over the cost of pursuing each degree separately. Capella online DBA offers unique features Capella's new DBA program is based on guidelines and standards of leading business education and professional organizations and also incorporates features not available in most online DBA programs. They include an optional international experience that offers an in-depth opportunity to explore the effects of globalization in business. In addition, DBA students can leverage the expertise of a leadership coach to help them define the specific leadership competencies they wish to develop, and facilitate the transfer of courseroom knowledge into their individual work settings. Online courseroom discussions, specially designed social networking sites, and three face-to-face weekend residencies provide ongoing opportunities to build professional relationships and share knowledge with other business leaders around the globe. "The DBA is a great option for business executives, entrepreneurs, and consultants who want the doctoral knowledge, skills, and credibility to lead their organizations at the highest level. Our three specializations provide opportunities to develop in-depth subject matter expertise in some of today's most cutting-edge areas of business, and an applied dissertation project allows them to make an immediate, practical contribution to their organization," said Raja K. Iyer, PhD, Dean of Capella's School of Business and Technology. "It complements our online PhDs in Business, Organization and Management, and Information Technology, which feature more academically focused research, and are the preferred degrees for those seeking faculty positions." Combined BS/MBA option saves time and money Capella's new Combined BS/MBA option allows eligible students in Capella's bachelor's degree programs in Business, Information Technology, and Psychology to begin earning master's level credits after completing at least 100 undergraduate credits. These master's level credits can be used toward completing the bachelor's degree and may also be applied toward a Capella MBA degree. Students can save more than $7,700 over the cost of pursuing each degree separately and cut up to two quarters off the time necessary to complete the MBA. Capella offers nine MBA specializations, including Accounting, Finance, General Business Administration, Global Operations and Supply Chain Management, Health Care Management, Human Resource Management, Information Technology Management, Marketing, and Project Management. Enrollment now open Capella is now accepting enrollment applications for its new DBA program and specializations.
