UNH to offer undergraduate degree in neuroscience

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- The University of New Hampshire is adding a new bachelor's degree this fall in neuroscience and behavior.

University officials say the new degree was chosen in response to growing student interest in the subject and is in keeping with the school's strategic plan, which calls for a deeper commitment to interdisciplinary programs.

It will bring together scientists from various departments, including psychology, physiology, biochemistry and physics.

Because the neuroscience degree will be the first of its kind at a New England public university, students from New England states may be eligible for reduced tuition under the terms of the New England Higher Education Compact.
